Ingredients:
- Arhar Dal: 1 cup, soaked
- Oil/Ghee: 2 tablespoons
- KLW Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- KLW Cumin Seeds: 1 teaspoon
- Mustard Seeds: 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion: 1 large, chopped
- Tomato: 1 large, chopped
- Ginger: 1-inch piece, grated
- Green Chilies: 2, slit
- KLW Dal Tadka Masala: 2-4 tablespoons
- Salt: to taste
Procedure:
- Cooking Dal:
- Pressure cook soaked arhar dal with 3 cups of water and KLW turmeric powder until soft (about 3 whistles).
- Tadka Preparation:
- Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds, allowing them to crackle.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger, green chilies, and tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes soften. Add KLW Dal Tadka Masala and lightly let the spices cook.
- Combining:
- Add the cooked dal to the pan. Mix well and adjust the consistency with water. Adjust salt as per taste.
- Simmering:
- Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
