KLW Dal Tadka Masala

Ingredients:

  • Arhar Dal: 1 cup, soaked
  • Oil/Ghee: 2 tablespoons
  • KLW  Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • KLW Cumin Seeds: 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard Seeds: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion: 1 large, chopped
  • Tomato: 1 large, chopped
  • Ginger: 1-inch piece, grated
  • Green Chilies: 2, slit
  • KLW Dal Tadka Masala: 2-4 tablespoons
  • Salt: to taste

Procedure:

  1. Cooking Dal:
    • Pressure cook soaked arhar dal with 3 cups of water and KLW turmeric powder until soft (about 3 whistles).
  2. Tadka Preparation:
    • Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds, allowing them to crackle.
    • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger, green chilies, and tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes soften. Add KLW Dal Tadka Masala and lightly let the spices cook.
  3. Combining:
    • Add the cooked dal to the pan. Mix well and adjust the consistency with water. Adjust salt as per taste.
  4. Simmering:
    • Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  5. Serving:
    • Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
